The
Seaside Police Department is pleased to announce a Citizen Police
Academy , an informative and educational course that takes an in-depth
look at various areas of law enforcement. The thirteen-week course
is filled with a variety of topics that are taught by individuals
who provide essential services to our community. Some of the topics
include:
Training
Communications
Laws
Investigations
Traffic & DUI Enforcement
Patrol Procedures
Use of Force
Court Procedures
And much, much,
more!
This
course is also meant to enhance the communication between the community
and the police department, hopefully bringing about a better understanding
of the actions taken and decisions made by law enforcement personnel.
Although this course will teach participants about the inner workings
of the police department, it is not intended to teach participants
how to become a police officer.
Classes
are held at the Seaside Highlands Community Center , 220 Coe Avenue
on Tuesday nights from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There is no charge for
this course.
New course date will soon
be posted.
